Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know what size to order?
Check our size chart to find your best fit. If you are between sizes, we suggest sizing up for a little extra room at the end of a long shift.
Are your shoes slip resistant?
Yes. All ReliefWear Sneakers use a certified slip resistant outsole for steady footing on wet, soapy, or polished hospital floors.
Can I wear these for long shifts?
Absolutely. The cushioning, real arch support, and wide toe box are built for 10 to 12 hour days, so your feet stay comfortable from first rounds to last chart.
Are they suitable for both work and everyday wear?
Yes. ReliefWear looks clean and modern, so you can go from unit to errands without changing shoes.
Do they help with swelling and wide feet?
Yes. We offer multiple widths, a roomy toe box, and a stretch knit that accommodates swelling during long shifts.
Will they squeak on hospital floors?
No. The outsole compound and tread pattern are designed for quiet steps, so you move smoothly without the hallway squeak.
How do I care for my ComfortStep™ shoes?
To keep your shoes clean and maintain their high comfort and support, follow these care guidelines:
– Hand-clean only with a soft cloth or brush, mild soap, and lukewarm water.
– Air dry only — heat or direct sunlight can weaken materials and reduce cushioning.
– Remove insoles to clean and dry them separately.
– Use a deodorizing or antibacterial spray to keep them fresh.
– Spot-clean stains with a gentle, non-bleaching cleaner.
– Never machine wash or tumble dry — this can damage the structure and significantly reduce comfort.
Proper care ensures your ComfortStep™ shoes stay supportive through every shift.
Can I use my own insoles or orthotics?
Yes. The removable insole lets you insert custom orthotics if needed. Most nurses find our included arch support enough, but the option is there.
